HOW IT WORKS?

Every stratospheric mission is a carefully orchestrated journey, with each component playing a vital role in reaching the edge of space and returning safely. From the balloon’s lift-off to the precise recovery of your payload, our expertise ensures a seamless process designed for success.

​​Learn about the essential elements that make it all possible:

BALLOON

Starting at 2-3 meters in diameter, the balloon swells to over 10 meters in the thin air of the stratosphere before it bursts.

PARACHUTE

After the burst, the payload falls at over 200 km/h. The parachute slows it down to a safe 4-5 m/s, ensuring a safe landing.

TRACKING DEVICES

Equipped with at least three independent devices, our tracking system guarantees precise location data for recovery, no matter where the payload lands.

MAIN LINE

The main line can extend up to 60 meters, keeping the payload stable and safe during the ascent and descent.

PAYLOAD GONDOLA

This is where your device, experiment, or marketing product is secured. It’s custom-designed to meet your needs and withstand the harsh stratospheric environment.

     Central location in Slovakia

Positioned in western Slovakia, with good access routes - the airport is ideally situated for operations across the country, ensuring efficient logistics and ease of transportation.

     Favorable wind patterns

Predominantly western winds in the region allow most balloon trajectories to remain within Slovak territory, simplifying recovery and reducing regulatory challenges.

     Line-of-sight considerations

The airport’s orographic features—namely the full 360 degrees view of horizon—ensure uninterrupted line-of-sight communication with the payload during both ascent and descent.
